Flyers put Dale Weise on waivers...
This is interesting on some levels...word is the Flyers are working VERY hard to add a player or two as they remain more of a buyer than a seller...and know a few of you out there aren't really in favor of the Flyers as buyers concept....
The Leafs loss last night showed alot when it comes to the defense and dare I say "goaltending" (1) of the Maple Leafs...Parayko on St Louis (2)...Sanheim in Philly (3)...Still no interest in Hamilton I am told...which really baffles me (4)...
1) You're really going to question Andersen in his first start of 2019 after the season and stat line he's put up to this point?
2) Same Parayko on the Blues that are 3 points out of a playoff spot? Makes sense they'd look to move him now.
3) Does this really move the needle? Meh.
4) The Leafs preach character in their players - apparently this guy has none, and based on his propensity for visiting museums in his spare time, is also quite the character.
If the Oliers are looking at Nylander from the Leafs, Talbot and a 1st will not do it. Talbot is a UFA next season and since Freddie is the starter, this trade doesn't help the Leafs this year, nor does it address their biggest and more glaring issue, their Defence. Perhaps a 3way deal could be had, as for many team the Oilers 1st could will be a nice add, especially if they end up missing the playoffs. Many are talking St. Louis moving a D-man, however, the Blues are only 3 points out of the playoffs with a game in hand. They could make a push for the playoffs, rather than become a seller. Ferland and a D-man from Carolina would be a great target, but they too are creeping into the playoff picture as Buffalo falls back.
Why would the Leafs want Hamilton.. Yes he is a top D-Man in the league(something that everyone wants) yet he will be heading to his 4th team. Carolina paid a big price for him and 40 games into having him on the roster they are trying to dump him.
Why have 3 teams given up on a bonafide top pairing D-man?

The rumor is stupid to begin with, but you literally just wasted 10 minutes typing that crap out. If only you read it...
"The Oilers are also scouting the Leafs about...you guessed it...William Nylander...Talbot and 1st is the starting point..."
No matter who trades with Edmonton, some big chunk of salary has to go somewhere to fit a big salary in...ya know that salary cap thingie.
I agree with #1, and what people are failing to consider when talking about Nylander, Andersen et al is how dealing with them affects the rest of the young core of the Leafs. Andersen is Matthews' best friend on the team. Matthews also wanted Nylander signed and Dubas enticed Nylander to compromise by promising he would NOT be traded. Flipping either of those players could risk the relationship with Matthews and other young players and ruin Dubas' reputation with his team.

Yeah and nobody thought the Oilers would ever trade Gretzky after he signed a 21 year contract....Owners and GM's do whats best for business!
Ducks and Oilers making a trade. It has happened. I would give them a young dman for pulijjaivi. I know oiler fan will say no but let's say josh mahura and 3rd for the big Finnish winger. Because the ducks should always have a fin on their team. Dosen't seem right not having one.
